The Cabinet of Ministers has granted approval to proceed with the awarding of the contract for the construction of a new building comprising 36 check-in counters and six boarding gates connecting the departure terminal to the aircraft at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake.

Accordingly, based on these recommendations, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal submitted by the Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation to award the contract to M/s Maga Engineering (Pvt) Ltd., identified as the lowest substantially responsive bidder.
