Few showers, gusty winds expected across several parts of the island today
A few showers are expected in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North Western provinces and in the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts today (15), according to the Department of Meteorology.
Meanwhile, mainly dry weather is expected to prevail across the rest of the island.
The Department of Meteorology has also warned that strong winds of 40 to 50 kilometres per hour may occur at times over the western slopes of the Central Hills, the Northern, North Central and North Western provinces and in the Monaragala, Hambantota and Trincomalee districts.
The general public has been advised to exercise caution due to the strong winds, while those in areas likely to receive showers are encouraged to take necessary precautions.
