Ada Derana Sinhala News Presenter Parindya Gunasekara was adjudged Best News Presenter (Female) at the Sumathi Awards 2026 held this evening (15).

 

Ada Derana also received recognition for its exemplary journalism, winning awards for Investigative News Reporting and Current Affairs Reporting at the awards ceremony.

 

Meanwhile, Ada Derana's "Rebuild Sri Lanka" programme, directed by Rukmal Mallawa, won the award for Best Current Affairs Programme.

 

Ada Derana's "Science for Life" programme, directed by K.C. Saranga, secured the award for Best Educational Programme at the ceremony.

 

In the Digital Media category, Derana Macro Entertainment's "Pulse" website was awarded Best Lifestyle and Fashion Programme at the Sumathi Awards 2026.

 

The awards were presented at the 31st edition of the Sumathi Awards, one of Sri Lanka's most prominent television award ceremonies, held at the Monarch Imperial Hotel in Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte.

 

The Sumathi Awards recognise excellence in Sri Lanka's television industry, honouring achievements in areas including journalism, current affairs, entertainment, production and digital media.
