Sanjeewa Rodrigo appointed to vacant Kotte Municipal Council seat

Sanjeewa Rodrigo has been appointed to fill the vacant council seat of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) in the Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte Municipal Council.        

 

The relevant Gazette notification has now been published.

 

The vacancy arose following the resignation of former council member Tuwan Fahim Mohamed Abdullah.

The General Secretary of the SJB subsequently informed the relevant authorities that Sanjeewa Rodrigo had been nominated to fill the vacant seat.

 

Accordingly, acting under Section 66(1) of the Local Authorities Elections Ordinance, Returning Officer for the Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte Municipal Council, Piumi Attigala, officially had declared Sanjeewa Rodrigo elected as a member of the Municipal Council to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Tuwan Fahim Mohamed Abdullah.
