Three dengue deaths reported in 24 hours as total fatalities this year rise to 53
Three dengue-related deaths have been reported over the past 24 hours alone, bringing the total number of dengue deaths this year to 53.
According to the latest report issued by the National Dengue Control Unit (NDCU), the total number of dengue cases reported so far this year has risen to 74,478 as of yesterday (17).
The report further states that a total of 19,100 dengue cases have been recorded during the first 17 days of July alone.
Meanwhile, the Western Province continues to report the highest number of dengue cases, with the Gampaha District recording the highest caseload in the country at 15,596 cases.
