
The Attorney General informed the Supreme Court today that steps have been taken to institute legal proceedings in the District Court to recover unpaid taxes from liquor manufacturing companies that have defaulted on their tax obligations.
The Additional Solicitor General, appearing on behalf of the Attorney General, made this submission when a Fundamental Rights petition seeking an order directing the recovery of the outstanding taxes from the defaulting liquor manufacturing companies was taken up before the Supreme Court, said Ada Derana reporter.
