
The Constitutional Council has invited applications from qualified individuals to fill a vacant position within the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL).
In a statement, the Council said applications must be submitted by July 31, 2026.
Applicants are required to use the prescribed application form available under the "Recommendation for Appointment as a Member of the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka" quick link on the official Parliament website.
Completed applications should be sent by registered post to the Acting Secretary-General, Constitutional Council, Office of the Constitutional Council, Parliament of Sri Lanka, Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte, or by email to constitutionalcouncil@parliament.lk.
The Council said those who had previously applied in response to the notice published in newspapers and the Gazette on April 24, 2026, must submit a new application to be considered for the current vacancy.
Under the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka Act, No. 21 of 1996, the Commission consists of five members selected from among persons with knowledge of, or practical experience in, human rights-related matters.
The Constitutional Council is responsible for recommending appointments to the HRCSL under Article 41B of the Constitution.
