Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is returning to theaters with an extra 12 minutes of behind-the-scenes bonus footage in honor of its upcoming 25th anniversary, Entertainment Weekly reported on Wednesday, July 22.

Warner Bros. has announced a week of "Back to Hogwarts" screenings and global fan events leading up to the 25th anniversary of the November 2001 premiere of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, with tickets for screenings going on sale on July 31—Harry's own birthday.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone isn't the only Harry Potter film that will be returning to theaters, as fans will be able to buy tickets to all eight films in the franchise as they play worldwide from Aug. 27 to Sept. 3. However, the first film in the series will be the only one to include bonus footage.

There will also be interactive fan events being held worldwide, including a celebratory screening and a mass wand lesson in cities including Paris, Venice, Madrid, and Sydney, as well as special experiences at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park locations.

The official Harry Potter YouTube and TikTok accounts will also share further announcements on Sept. 1, as fans celebrate the Hogwarts back-to-school date.

After the original Harry Potter series turned Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint into household names more than two decades ago, HBO is revisiting the beloved franchise with its own television series adaptation, scheduled to premiere on Christmas Day on HBO Max.

Dominic McLaughlin will play Harry Potter, with Alastair Stout cast as Ron Weasley and Arabella Stanton taking on the role of Hermione Granger. Other major cast members include John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Bel Powley as Aunt Petunia and Daniel Rigby as Uncle Vernon.
