Norton records highest rainfall of 258.6 mm in past 24 hours

The highest rainfall recorded over the past 24 hours was reported from the Norton area in Nuwara Eliya, according to the Department of Meteorology.

 

The Department stated that Norton received 258.6 mm of rainfall during the 24-hour period from 8:30 a.m. yesterday (03) to 8:30 a.m. today (04).

 

During the same period, Canyon recorded 234.6 mm, Laxapana 208 mm, Castlereagh 164 mm, Maussakele 125 mm, Upper Kotmale 110.3 mm, and Kotmale 105 mm of rainfall.
