
Opening batter Pathum Nissanka was crowned Sri Lanka's Cricketer of the Year for 2025 at the annual Sri Lanka Cricket Awards ceremony held in Colombo last evening (06).
Sri Lanka women's captain Chamari Athapaththu was named Women's Cricketer of the Year, adding to an impressive list of individual honours.
Nissanka also claimed the award for Best Test Batter, while left-arm spinner Prabath Jayasuriya was recognized as the Best Test Bowler. Test captain Dhananjaya de Silva received the Best Test All-Rounder award.
In the One-Day International (ODI) category, fast bowler Asitha Fernando was named Best ODI Bowler, Charith Asalanka secured the Best ODI Batter award and Wanindu Hasaranga was honoured as the Best ODI All-Rounder.
The Twenty20 awards saw Dushmantha Chameera named Best T20 Bowler, with Nissanka completing another successful year by winning Best T20 Batter. Dasun Shanaka was recognized as the Best T20 All-Rounder.
Athapaththu continued her dominance in the women's categories, claiming the Best Women's ODI Bowler and Best Women's ODI All-Rounder awards. Harshitha Samarawickrama was named Best Women's ODI Batter.
In the women's T20 awards, Kavisha Dilhari was honoured as Best Women's T20 Bowler, while Athapaththu completed a remarkable night by winning both Best Women's T20 Batter and Best Women's T20 All-Rounder.
The ceremony also recognized emerging talent, with Kamil Mishara and Imesha Dulani receiving the Emerging Men's Cricketer and Emerging Women's Cricketer awards, respectively.
