
A total of 508 individuals were arrested during island-wide police operations conducted yesterday (06) alone under the ongoing ‘A Nation United’ national anti-drug programme, aimed at eradicating narcotics from the country.
According to the police, a total of 27,054 individuals were subjected to inspection during the operations carried out yesterday (01).
Among those arrested, a total of 20 individuals were identified as suspects directly involved in criminal offences.
Police stated that a total of 142 individuals with open warrants were arrested during the operation.
Police also stated that 65 individuals were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, while another 122 were taken into custody for reckless driving.
