‘Ramayana’ to release internationally on Nov. 6, two days before India

The release strategy of Ranbir Kapoor and Yash starrer Ramayana has now been clarified. The film will release in international markets on November 6, 2026, while the Indian release is planned for November 8, which falls on Diwali.

This means the film will open overseas two days before its India release. Producer Namit Malhotra confirmed the plan and explained the reason behind the different dates.

The overseas release has been planned for Friday, November 6, while the team wants the film to arrive in India on the Diwali holiday. The earlier announcements had created some confusion over whether November 6 would be the release date across all markets.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is being made as a two-part film based on the Indian epic. Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi is seen as Sita, while Yash plays Ravana. Sunny Deol plays Hanuman and Ravi Dubey is part of the principal cast. The film is being produced by Namit Malhotra along with the international team at Prime Focus.

The makers have been positioning Ramayana for a global audience, with international distribution being an important part of the release strategy. The India release on Diwali gives the film a major holiday window, while the overseas markets will get it two days earlier. The film is currently one of the most awaited Indian films and the second installment will arrive during Diwali next year.
