78-year-old attacked to death by son-in-law in Laggala
A 78-year-old man has died after being attacked with a sharp weapon in the Thorapitiya area of Laggala.
Police officers had admitted the seriously injured victim to hospital, however, he had already succumbed to his injuries by the time he was admitted.
The deceased has been identified as a resident of the Ma Oya area, police said.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the attack was allegedly carried out by the victim’s son-in-law following an argument between the two that escalated.
The suspect has fled the area, and Laggala Police are conducting further investigations to arrest him.
