Three injured as luxury car crashes into pedestrians in Waskaduwa

Three individuals have been injured, with two of them hospitalised, after a luxury car travelling from Colombo towards Kalutara veered off the road on the Waskaduwa-Galle Road.

 

Police said the vehicle crossed into the opposite lane on the Waskaduwa-Galle Road, struck three pedestrians, crashed into two roadside boundary posts, and subsequently veered off the road.

 

Police suspect that the accident may have occurred after the driver fell asleep at the wheel.

 

The arrested driver is scheduled to be produced before the Kalutara Magistrate’s Court.
