The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the long-term procurement of Petrol 92 Unl, Murban crude oil and Diesel (0.05% M.S.) by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC).
The contracts were awarded following a Limited International Competitive Bidding process among CPC-registered suppliers. The awards were made to the lowest substantially responsive bidders based on recommendations from the High-Level Standing Procurement Committees.
Under the approved arrangements:
Aditya Birla Global Trading (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. has been selected to supply 1.2 million barrels (±5%) of Petrol 92 Unl from September 1, 2026, to February 28, 2027. Four bids were received for the contract.
The same company has also been selected to supply 2.8 million barrels (±5%) of Murban crude oil from November 1, 2026, to February 28, 2027. Four bids were received.
Meanwhile, Vitol Asia Pte. Ltd., Singapore, has been selected to supply 1.12 million barrels (±5%) of Diesel with 0.05% sulphur from September 1, 2026, to February 28, 2027. Six bids were received for the diesel contract.
The Cabinet approved the procurements based on proposals submitted by the Minister of Energy, with the contracts intended to ensure uninterrupted supplies of fuel and crude oil to meet the country’s energy requirements.
