Youth arrested for allegedly selling cannabis-laced drugs to students

A 23-year-old has been arrested by the Galnewa Police for allegedly selling cannabis-laced intoxicating substances to school students and students attending private tuition classes.

 

The arrest was made during a raid jointly conducted by a team of Galnewa Police officers and Community Health Medical Officers from the North Central Provincial Department of Ayurveda, acting on information received by police.

 

Police said they seized 94 small packets containing cannabis from the suspect. Additionally, 15 bottles containing 150 grams each and 21 bottles containing 250 grams each of cannabis-laced substances were also taken into police custody.

 

The total quantity of cannabis-laced substances seized was reported to be 9 kilograms and 296 grams.

 

The suspect, a resident of Sewanagala, is currently in police custody.

 

The Galnewa Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
