Several spells of showers can be expected at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces, and in the Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara districts today (13), according to the Department of Meteorology.

 

Showers or thundershowers can occur at a few places in the Uva and Eastern provinces and in the Mullaitivu district after 2.00 p.m., the Met. Department added.

 

The Department also urged the general public to take necessary precautions against temporary localized strong winds and lightning that may occur during thunderstorms.
