Hatton–Colombo main road reopened to traffic following earthslip
The earthslip that obstructed the Hatton–Colombo Main Road in the Kuyilwatte area has been cleared, and traffic has returned to normal, according to police.
The road was completely blocked at approximately 1:00 a.m. today (15) after an earthslip collapsed onto the roadway in the Kuyilwatte area.
However, one lane has since been reopened for vehicular movement.
Police have advised motorists to exercise caution when travelling through the area, as there remains a risk of further earthslips.
Intermittent rainfall is also continuing in the affected area, said Ada Derana reporter.
