The grand finale of Derana ‘Teen Star’, the reality singing competition showcasing the musical talents of Sri Lanka’s younger generation, was held successfully this evening (17).

The first season finale featured two competitive categories — Group and Solo — with contestants delivering live performances before the final winners were selected through audience SMS voting.

Team Agni Wins Group Category

Three groups competed in the Group category of the grand finale, with Team Agni ultimately securing the championship.

Derana ‘Teen Star’ has featured group singing as a central element of its competition format, with the programme highlighting young performers competing together as teams.

Imeth Jayarathne Wins Solo Category

The Solo category featured three finalists — two male contestants and one female contestant — who performed live during the grand finale.

The Solo championship was won by Imeth Jayarathne of Maharagama, who emerged as the winner following the audience SMS vote.

A key feature of the first season of Derana ‘Teen Star’ was that contestants performed their songs live throughout the competition.

For the grand finale, the winners in both categories were determined by SMS votes cast by viewers.
