
A total of 6,914 dengue cases have been reported during August so far, pushing the total number of cases reported this year to 92,254, according to the latest data from the National Dengue Control Unit.
The data shows that Gampaha District has recorded the highest number of dengue cases so far in 2026, with 19,671 patients, followed by Colombo with 18,289 cases.
Kandy has reported 6,635 cases, while Matara has recorded 6,040 cases.
Meanwhile, 5,964 cases have been reported from Kalutara, 5,063 from Galle, and 4,946 from Ratnapura.
The National Dengue Control Unit said 68 dengue-related deaths have been reported across the country so far this year.
