
A total of 113,307 tourists have arrived in Sri Lanka during the first 16 days of August, according to the latest figures released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).
India remained the leading source of tourists during the period, with 25,355 Indian nationals arriving in Sri Lanka, accounting for around 22% of total arrivals.
Meanwhile, 12,738 tourists from the United Kingdom and 8,106 tourists from France arrived in the country during the same period.
The latest figures bring Sri Lanka’s total tourist arrivals between January 1 and August 16, 2026, to 1,456,725.
India continued to lead the overall arrivals during the year, contributing 363,585 tourists, while the United Kingdom accounted for 143,139 arrivals.
