Several spells of showers are expected in several parts of the country, while mainly dry weather will prevail across the rest of the island, according to the Department of Meteorology.
The Met. Department said showers are likely in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces and in the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.
Meanwhile, mainly dry weather is expected in the other areas of the country.
The Met. Department also warned of fairly strong winds of around 30–40 kmph at times over the western slopes of the Central Hills.
Strong winds are also expected in the Northern, North Central, North-Western and Southern provinces and in the Trincomalee District.
The general public, particularly those in areas where strong winds are expected, has been advised to remain alert and exercise caution as weather conditions change.
