Man killed in wild elephant attack in Medawachchiya
A 52-year-old man has been killed in a wild elephant attack in Pul Eliya, Medawachchiya, police said.
The victim, a resident of Rambakulama, was reportedly travelling home on a motorcycle after attending an alms-giving ceremony at a relative’s residence when he was attacked by the wild elephant.
The man sustained serious injuries in the attack and died as a result.
Police said investigations into the incident are being conducted by the Medawachchiya Police.
