Veteran Sri Lankan filmmaker, producer, and writer Chandran Rutnam was invited as a Special Guest and Panelist for Film Expo India 2026, which took place at Bharat Mandapam (ITPO, Pragati Maidan), New Delhi.

The summit, billed as India’s premier film industry exhibition under the theme “Silver Screen Summit,” brought together global cinema leaders, production partners, and creative talent from August 26 to 30, 2026.

Rutnam’s prominent contributions highlighted at the international forum included his work on critically acclaimed local and international cinematic achievements such as A Common Man, Toomai of the Elephants, and Steven Spielberg’s iconic Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

His participation at India’s flagship film trade platform underscored Sri Lanka’s growing footprint in regional production collaboration, location management, and international co-productions across South Asia.
