A total of 50 Medical Officer of Health (MOH) areas across the country continue to remain in the high-risk category for dengue, the National Dengue Control Unit noted.
According to the latest figures released by the unit, 95,174 dengue cases have been reported in Sri Lanka so far this year.
Of this total, 9,838 cases were reported during August alone.
The Western Province continues to record the highest number of cases, with 50,358 infections reported so far in 2026. The Southern Province has recorded 13,854 cases, followed by the Central Province with 8,659 and Sabaragamuwa Province with 7,825 cases.
The Gampaha District has recorded the highest number of dengue cases at 20,276.
Meanwhile, 72 dengue-related deaths have been reported across the country so far this year, according to the National Dengue Control Unit.
