The Dinana Dakuna organization has lodged a complaint with the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) against Members of Parliament elected from the National People’s Power (NPP).
The organization alleges that the MPs have committed an offence under the Anti-Corruption Act by depositing the allowances they receive as parliamentary privileges into the bank account of the JVP, instead of using the funds for the public benefit, which is the intended purpose of such allowances.
The complaint was filed with the Bribery Commission this morning (02), with the organization calling for an expedited investigation under the Anti-Corruption Act, No. 9 of 2023.
In its complaint, Dinana Dakuna has made five requests, including summoning all 159 NPP MPs to record statements and conducting an investigation, as well as examining the party’s bank accounts.
