24-hour water cut in several areas of Colombo from 8pm

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) will suspend the water supply in several areas of Colombo for 24 hours from 8 p.m. today (3) until 8 p.m. tomorrow (4).

 

The water cut has been attributed to essential maintenance work at the Ambatale Water Treatment Plant, aimed at improving the quality of the water supply.

 

The affected areas include Nugegoda, Kohuwala, Dehiwala, Mount Lavinia, Ratmalana, Moratuwa, Rawathawatta, Soysapura, Angulana, Indibedda, Katubedda, Kaldemulla, Mutwal, Koralawella, Egoda Uyana and Katukurunda.

 

The water supply interruption will also affect Sethsiripaya, Himbutana, Udumulla Road, Maliga Godella, Bank Junction Road, W. A. Silva Mawatha, Havelock Road, Kalyani Road, Colombo 06, Hospital Roundabout Road, Jayanthi Mawatha and Shanthi Mawatha.

 

The NWSDB has urged consumers in the affected areas to use water sparingly during the 24-hour interruption.
