Sri Lanka and Bhutan have explored opportunities to strengthen cooperation in legal education through academic exchanges, joint research and the sharing of expertise and best practices.
The discussions took place when Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya visited the Jigme Singye Wangchuck School of Law (JSW Law) yesterday (02), during her official visit to the Kingdom of Bhutan.
The visit provided an opportunity to learn about the School’s work in legal education, justice innovation and the development of legal professionals, while exchanging views on the legal systems and judicial traditions of Sri Lanka and Bhutan, the Office of the Prime Minister said in a statement.
Particular attention was given to strengthening links between academic institutions, including opportunities for student and faculty exchanges, research collaboration and greater knowledge-sharing in legal and judicial education.
The discussions also explored ways for the two countries to share experiences and best practices, with the aim of further developing legal education and professional training.
The visit was part of the Prime Minister’s official programme during her visit to Bhutan.
