Ven. Ampitiye Sumanarathana Thero further remanded
Venerable Ampitiye Sumanarathana Thero, who was arrested by the Batticaloa Police yesterday (07), has been further remanded.
The order was issued by the Batticaloa Magistrate’s Court, said Ada Derana reporter.
Sumanarathana Thero was arrested in connection with an incident in which he allegedly obstructed the duties of officers at the Geological Survey and Mines Bureau office in Batticaloa.
Following his arrest, Venerable Ampitiye Sumanarathana Thero was produced before the Batticaloa Magistrate’s Court and subsequently remanded till today.
