Showers expected in several provinces today
Several spells of showers are expected in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as in the Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara districts, according to the latest weather forecast.
Showers or thundershowers may also occur at a few places in the Uva and Eastern provinces and in the Mullaittivu district after 2.00 p.m.
The public has been advised to take adequate precautions to minimise possible damage caused by temporary, localised strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
People are particularly urged to exercise caution during thunderstorms and take appropriate safety measures in areas affected by strong winds and lightning.
