Italian naval vessel ITS Giuseppe Garibaldi arrives in Colombo
Italian naval vessel ITS Giuseppe Garibaldi has arrived at the Port of Colombo on a replenishment visit, with the Sri Lanka Navy welcoming the visiting ship in accordance with naval traditions.
The 180-metre-long Landing Helicopter Aircraft Vessel is commanded by Captain Marco Guerriero.
During its stay in Sri Lanka, the Commanding Officer of ITS Giuseppe Garibaldi is scheduled to call on the Commander of the Western Naval Area.
The visit is expected to further strengthen longstanding maritime and naval ties between Sri Lanka and Italy, the Sri Lanka Navy said in a statement.
