
The number of reported dengue cases in Sri Lanka so far in 2026 has risen to 97,027.
According to a statement issued by the National Dengue Control Unit, 1,536 dengue cases have been reported so far in September.
A total of 74 dengue-related deaths have been recorded so far this year.
During this period, the highest number of cases was reported from the Western Province, with 51,180 cases.
A total of 14,036 cases have been reported from the Southern Province, 8,958 from the Central Province, and 7,998 from the Sabaragamuwa Province.
The highest number of cases was reported from the Gampaha District, with 20,622 cases.
Furthermore, 19,168 cases have been reported from the Colombo District, 7,199 from the Kandy District, 6,186 from the Matara District, and 6,218 from the Kalutara District.
Forty Medical Officer of Health (MOH) areas across the island continue to be identified as high-risk zones.
