Several spells of showers expected in parts of the country
Several spells of showers will occur in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara districts today (12), according to the Department of Meteorology.
A few showers will occur in the North-Western Province. Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in the Northern, North-Central, Uva and Eastern provinces after 2.00 p.m.
Fairly heavy rainfalls above 50 mm are likely at some places in these areas, the Met. Department added.
The general public has been requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
