
Five individuals, including two women have been arrested with narcotics during a special search operation conducted at a housing complex within the Mount Lavinia Police Division.
The operation was jointly carried out by the Police Special Task Force (STF), Police and the Sri Lanka Army.
During the operation, officers had seized seven grams of ‘Kush,’ 32 grams of hashish, four grams of heroin, 20 narcotic pills and Rs. 108,400 allegedly earned through drug trafficking.
Police said one of the suspects arrested during the operation is also a suspect in the shooting of an individual in Nedimala, Dehiwala on August 4, where the assailants had reportedly arrived on a motorcycle.
The suspects and the seized narcotics have been handed over to the Mount Lavinia Police Station for further investigations.
