The low-level atmospheric disturbance currently prevailing in the vicinity of Sri Lanka continues to persist, according to the Department of Meteorology.
Under the influence of this system, cloudy skies with showers or thundershowers are expected at times in the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and Uva provinces, as well as in the Batticaloa and Ampara districts tomorrow.
Heavy rainfall exceeding 100 mm is likely at some locations, the Department of Meteorology said.
Showers or thundershowers are also expected to occur at several places in other parts of the island after 1.00 p.m.
The general public is advised to take adequate precautions to minimise the risk of damage caused by temporary, localised strong winds and lightning that may occur during thundershowers.
