
The Department of Meteorology says that showery weather in the South-western parts of the island is likely to increase during the next few days starting from tomorrow (19).
Showers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya Districts with fairly heavy rainfall of about 75 mm likely at some places in Sabaragamuwa province and in Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in Uva province and in Mullaittivu, Batticaloa and Ampara districts after 2.00 p.m., the department said.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
