2027 Appropriation Bill published in Gazette
The Appropriation Bill for the year 2027 has been published in the Gazette.
Cabinet approval was recently granted for the relevant Bill, which was gazetted yesterday (21), according to reports.
Accordingly, the Government’s estimated expenditure for the 2027 financial year has been set at Rs. 4,992,773,388,000.
The first reading of the 2027 Appropriation Bill is scheduled to take place on October 7, while the second reading, also known as the Budget Speech, is scheduled for November 12, 2026.
The debate on the second reading of the Budget is scheduled to be held from November 13 to 20, 2026.
Meanwhile, the Committee Stage debate is scheduled to take place from November 21 to December 14, 2026.
