Flight to Sri Lanka makes emergency landing at Chennai
The pilot of a plane going from Vietnam to Sri Lanka made an emergency landing at Chennai airport as the plane developed a mechanical snag when it was flying at a height of 36,000 feet on Tuesday.
The Viet Jet Airlines from Ho Chi Minh city in Vietnam left on Tuesday evening with 152 passengers.
When it was flying above Chennai on Tuesday night, it developed a mechanical snag.
The pilots immediately contacted the Delhi control room and sought permission for an emergency landing.
Following instructions from Delhi, the airport authorities of Chennai airport made immediate arrangements for a safe landing.
The plane landed safely at around 10.40 pm on Tuesday.
