Meetiyagoda Police have arrested two suspects wanted in connection with an attempted murder involving a shooting.
The arrests were made in connection with an incident that occurred on September 21 in the Kahawa Junction area of Ambalangoda, where two individuals travelling on a motorcycle allegedly attempted to carry out a shooting using a pistol.
A team of officers from the Meetiyagoda Police Station apprehended the suspects last morning (24) in the Batapola Police Division. Police stated that the suspects, aged 19 and 22, are residents of Aluthwala and Meetiyagoda.
Investigations have revealed that the suspects allegedly acted as the rider and shooter on the motorcycle used in the incident.
Police have also recovered the pistol allegedly used in the shooting, 10 rounds of live ammunition, the motorcycle involved in the incident, and two safety helmets worn by the suspects.
The suspects are scheduled to be handed over to the Ambalangoda Police Station for further investigations.
