The total number of dengue cases reported in Sri Lanka this year has surpassed 100,000 as of today (28), according to Acting Deputy Provincial Director of Health Services for the Western Province, Specialist Dr. Navinda Soysa.
He made these remarks while appearing on Ada Derana’s BIG FOCUS programme today.
Although a decline has been observed in the number of dengue cases reported daily compared to previous months, the risk has not completely subsided, he noted.
It was also revealed that seven provinces in the country remain at a high-risk level for dengue.
In view of the situation, Dr. Navinda Soysa further stressed that the public should ensure that health guidelines are followed properly.
