A landslide has occurred on the railway track in the Agunawela area between Peradeniya and Gelioya railway stations at around 6.20 p.m. today.
Railway Traffic Superintendent Asanka Samarasinghe said steps are being taken to remove the obstruction from the railway line as soon as possible.
Railway authorities are currently working to clear the earth and debris from the affected section, he said.
