The National Building Research Institute (NBRI) has extended the landslide early warning issued for several areas in five districts.
The warning will remain in effect until 4.00 p.m. tomorrow (06), the NBRI noted.
Accordingly, Level 2 landslide warnings have been issued for Passara in the Badulla District; Minipe and Udadumbara in the Kandy District; Dehiowita in the Kegalle District; and Ambanganga Korale, Matale and Rattota in the Matale District.
Meanwhile, Level 1 warnings have been issued for Udapalatha in the Kandy District; Bulathkohupitiya and Rambukkana in the Kegalle District; and Weligepola, Eheliyagoda, Ratnapura, Kuruwita and Ayagama in the Ratnapura District.
The NBRI also advised residents in the affected areas to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions in view of the risk of landslides.
