
The Assistant Superintendent of the Trincomalee Remand Prison has been arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) for allegedly soliciting and accepting a bribe of Rs. 1.235 million from a supplier of dry rations for prison inmates.
According to the Bribery Commission, the alleged bribe was solicited and accepted through a prison guard.
The payment was allegedly sought in connection with the supply of dry food items to inmates at the Trincomalee Remand Prison.
The suspect was arrested by CIABOC officers following an investigation into the alleged bribery incident.
