The wife of the restaurant owner who was fatally shot outside his establishment in the Nagoda area of Kalutara on October 9 has also succumbed to her injuries while receiving treatment after being admitted to hospital in critical condition.
The incident had occurred at around 7.40 a.m. on October 9, when two unidentified gunmen arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire on the restaurant owner and his wife outside the premises before fleeing the scene.
The restaurant owner died at the scene, while his wife, who sustained serious injuries, was receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Nagoda Hospital. She has succumbed to her injuries in the early hours of today (11).
The deceased woman has been identified as 52 years old and a resident of the Dodangoda area, police said.
Kalutara South Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
