The ‘Derana-Ritzbury Mawbimata Weerayek – Ratata Sampathak’ initiative was launched last year to mark the channel’s 20th anniversary. Through the project, efforts were initiated to identify talented athletes including 100-meter, 400- meter and 800- meter runners, as well as javelin throwers, from all 25 districts of Sri Lanka and support their development with the ultimate goal of taking them to the Olympic Games.
