The Court of Appeal has postponed until October 22 the delivery of its decision pertaining to the intervening petitions seeking permission to make submissions in a petition filed by former State Intelligence Service (SIS) Director, retired Major General Suresh Sallay, challenging his arrest and detention by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in connection with investigations into the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks.
The relevant decision was scheduled to be delivered today (14). However, the Court of Appeal bench informed the parties that it would be delivered on October 22, said Ada Derana reporter.
The intervening petitions were filed by several Buddhist monks, including Venerable Bengamuwe Nalaka Thero, His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith, and several civil society organisations.
