Julampitiya Amare identified by witnesses

Geeganagamage Amarasiri also known as “Julampitiya Amare” has been identified by 3 out of 4 of the witnesses at the identification parade of the Katuwana Shooting incident held at the Walasmulla Magistrate’s Court today.
The suspect had surrendered to the Tangalle High Court via an attorney on Tuesday (19) over a warrant issued for his arrest concerning a murder which occurred in 2003.
He is also suspected of being involved in the shooting which took place at a JVP rally in Katuwana, Hambantota which claimed the lives of two persons.
The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) had later requested that he be listed as a suspect in the incident.
