FCID grills Basil Rajapaksa

Former Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa on Wednesday (22) arrived at the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) to give a statement concerning the allegations of financial frauds against him, the Police Spokesperson said.


The statement is being recorded about alleged financial misappropriations in the Divi Neguma Department, the police added.


Rajapaksa arrived in the Country on Thursday (21) afternoon.


He left the country for the US on 11 January, following the defeat of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the January Presidential Election.
