Acid attack on Ayurvedic Commissioner: Court summons accused

Three accused, who were indicted following the acid attack on the former Ayurvedic Commissioner of the North Central Province, have been summoned to appear in the Anuradhapura High Court on November 11.


The notices were issued to an Ayurvedic doctor, fisherman and an ex-Army soldier when the case was taken up for hearing before High Court Judge Dhammika Ganepola, Ada Derana reporter said.


The three accused were arrested over the incident on 2013, February 28. Commissioner, Kumara Alwis, had suffered most of injuries on his face due to the attack and was admitted to the Anuradhapura Teaching hospital.
