Kapilavastu relics brought to Gangarama temple

The sacred Kapilavastu relics were brought to the Gangarama temple a short while ago while the exposition will begin at 12 noon today (September 8) and is due to continue until September 10.
The exposition of the Kapilavastu relics has been extended from September 5 to September 11.
The sacred Kapilavastu Buddhist relics which travelled to Sri Lanka from India after more than 30 years, was received by President Mahinda Rajapaksa on August 19 at the Bandaranaike airport.
Exposition of the Sacred Buddha Relics was to be held at five locations from August 19 to September 5 with Prith Chanting by the Maha Sangha but now has been extended to September 11.
